We are over the moon that one of our residents, Heather Murtagh has been awarded with a Heart of the Community award.  These annual awards, presented by the Mayor, recognise the people of Northampton who help their neighbours, support local groups and regularly go out of their way for others in their community.

Tracey Thomson (NPH Community Development Officer), who nominated Heather for the award said;  "I nominated Heather because she does so much for her local community.  She chairs the PEMBA residents association and supports local initiatives such as the Market Street youth project, by liaising with residents and even offering to become treasurer.

"Heather also campaigned for years about the St Edmunds site, working with the local community, councillors and the police to achieve a resolution. Our heart of the community volunteers at weekly coffee mornings for older residents and can be relied upon to be there whatever the weather, with a smile and a listening ear.  The list goes on! In short, she makes the community a better place.  This award is an opportunity to say thank you to Heather for all she does for others."
