Johnnie Amos, garden judge said “Both myself and Sarah were very impressed by the standard of the entries. We had a great time visiting everyone in July and viewing their gardens. It was lovely to meet so many different people, hear about their enthusiasm for gardening and celebrate their amazing efforts in the garden”.

NPH’s Garden Competition organisers said:

“This was our very first garden competition and we wanted to make sure there was a category for everyone – whether you have a garden outside or a display inside. It has been lovely to meet every person who entered, listen to their stories about why they love to garden and see how much pride they take in their homes. The standard of entries has been really good with some really creative displays. We’ve had everything from pristine lawns, rambling roses, window sill gardens, upcycled garden decorations, as well as traditional romantic gardens. We’d like to thank all our tenants for entering and their hospitality for opening their gardens up for our judges to view.”

Susan, winner of the Best Garden Category in the Garden Competition said “I never expected to win. My neighbour said I should enter as Bob and I put a lot of effort into making the garden nice. It was something different and I thought why not [get involved], I wanted our efforts to be recognised. I’ve never won an award before so I’m so pleased”.

We'd like to thank everyone who entered this year's competition for all your hard work. Next year we want even more tenants and leaseholders to get involved and show off your beautiful blooms in the garden!
