Planned programmes

As part of the creation of NPH, we agreed to deliver three separate programmes to maintain and improve homes and neighbourhoods:

  • an External works programme
  • an Internal works programme
  • and an Environmental works programme

We are also working on planned programmes to improve fire safety, energy efficiency and garage sites - so you may see our team in your neighbourhood soon.

Information on each programme can be found below.

Abbey, Devonshire and Melbourne House

What do you think to the work at Abbey, Melbourne and Devonshire House? Both blocks have received external wall insulation and new windows to make the homes more energy efficient. The communal areas are redecorated. Next we will be looking to improve the communal gardens.

Eleonore House

Eleonore House is an older persons housing complex in Eastfield.

Work is underway on a major refurbishment project here, which will update communal areas, improve kitchens and bathrooms and provide new carpets for residents. We’re giving Eleonore House a much needed face lift and adding 6 new apartments at the same time. We’d like to thank residents for their patience during the works. We can’t wait to see the finished results in 2017!

We will also be improving facilities for all residents with a new foyer, shop, mobility scooter shed, lounge, I.T. suite and landscaping in the main courtyard.

Eastfield blocks

We are currently refurbishing 10 blocks in the Eastfield area.

The refurbishment includes painting the outside of the blocks as well as lobby areas.  Balconies, entrance doors and windows will be renewed and the gardens will be improved.

Work is well underway with the majority of blocks now completed.

Lakeview House

Lakeview House was the former site of a derelict care home. The current site was demolished in 2016.

NPH who now manage the site have submitted plans which have been approved by the authority to redevelop and replace the site with 45 new homes for older people. Work on the construction is scheduled to start in June 2017. Our contractors Keepmoat will be carrying out the work on NPH’s behalf.

To view the plans visit Northampton Borough Council’s Planning Applications Portal searching under reference N/2016/1649.

Spring Boroughs

Spring Boroughs is having a major development. 5 planning applications have been produced with exciting plans to develop new build homes in Little Cross Street, Lower Bath Street and Althorp Street and for a ground floor extension to St Katherine’s Court.

The redevelopment will include 14 three bedroom and 2 four bedroom houses as well as nine 2 bedroom maisonettes with private terraced gardens and 9 one bedroom apartments, as well as plans for a replacement shop in Little Cross Street.

Building contractors, Wilmot Dixon have been appointed to carry out the work.

At Cooper Street, Doddridge and St Peter’s House there are major external improvements taking place, which will make these homes more secure and improve their appearance. We’re also reviewing the green space in the area. We hope to include a space to grow your own food, more washing lines and a play area.

Look out for us onsite!
