Redevelopment of Lakeview House

Planning approval has been given for NPH to develop 45 new homes for older people on the former site of Lakeview House Care Home.

In October 2016 NPH met up with residents in the area to discuss plans to create new homes for older people on the site. The former care home had been vacant for sometime and was demolished in 2016.

The new design of Lakeview was chosen by representatives from the local residents association in Eastfield, Northampton Partnership Homes and Keepmoat, who will be working with NPH on the development.

Helen Town, NPH's Head of Asset Management said:

“During the planning our staff consulted with over 700 homes in the area and met up with residents at the local community hub to talk about the plans and take on board their views. We’re really pleased with the feedback we’ve received from residents and the possibilities this new project will bring. Working with Keepmoat, this scheme will provide secure housing to a growing number of older people across Northampton”.

Mary Markham, Northampton Borough Councillor and NPH Board Member said:

“It gives me great pleasure to see planning approval for this project. Since my time as portfolio holder for housing, NBC and NPH have been working with the Eastfield community to produce plans that both satisfied the needs of local residents and addressed the growing need for older persons’ housing in Northampton. As a board member of NPH, it’s exciting to see so many projects coming to life that will make a real difference to communities all over the Borough”.

The majority of the development at Lakeview will be constructed offsite utilising modern build techniques which will result in a shorter build time, less landfill waste and increased quality control.

Work is expected to begin on the development from June 2017.
